It’s contest time again at Ageless. Don’t put on that winter weight again this year. This is a team competition that is intended to keep you active and accountable throughout the holiday season. You will be in teams of 2, and there will be a separate competition for men and women.
Must enter as a 2 person team with a team name. You will sign up on the Holiday Competition Sign Up Sheet on the front desk. The competition starts on November 25th. You can still sign up after November 25th, but be sure to get signed up as soon as possible so don’t lose too many days.
You must record your point on the Points Slips on the front desk immediately following each workout to get credit for them.
For the women’s competition:
The women’s contest is based on the following points system. The team with the most points at midnight on Christmas Day wins.
Women’s Contest Points System:
-
Butts ‘N Guts, GloKick, Hustle, Awesome Upper Body, Morning Madness = 5
-
Small Group Training = 4
-
100 body weight squats = 2
-
50 burpees = 2
-
100 med ball slams with 20 pound ball = 2
-
100 kettlebell swings with 25 pounds or more = 2
-
Jacobs Ladder 200 ft = 1
-
3 mile bike indoors or outdoors = 1
-
1 mile run or walk indoors or outdoors = 1
-
1 mile on the elliptical = 1
After you do an activity to earn points you must fill out a slip and put it in the box on the front desk to get credit.
Women’s FAQ – You may do squats and burpees at home and get credit for them in the contest. However, please remember we are on the honor system. If you cheat the only person you are cheating is yourself.
Men’s Contest:
Men must also enter in teams of 2 and will have a different points system from the women. For the men to get points all you have to do is calculate your total pounds lifted by multiplying the number of reps you do by the number of pounds you lift.
For example if you bench press 135# for 5 reps you multiply 135 x 5 to get your total pounds lifted as 675.
The 2 man team with the highest point total on midnight December 25th is the winner.
Men’s FAQ – You can count your pounds from doing sled pull or push. You must go down and back one time to get one rep on the sled. The sled itself counts as no weight. So if you have 400# on the sled and you push it down and back one time you get 400 pounds for the contest.
Men’s FAQ – You can count your pounds on farmers walks. You must go the length of the basketball court one time to get credit for the pounds you are carrying.
Men’s FAQ – Reps done on machines do not count towards the contest.
Men’s FAQ – Calf Raises do not count for the competition, even those done with free weights.
Men’s FAQ – The only body weight exercises that you can count towards the competition are those done with the weight vest on. The vest weighs 40#, so you get 40# per FULL rep. Please do not cheat on the reps.
Let’s have another great contest!
