It’s a Family Affair
We’ve been at our current location for a little over 2 years now. Like any business, we’ve had our ups and downs, but overall we’ve been blessed with a successful business. Each year we continue to grow and improve. Most importantly, though we continue to add to our growing “Ageless family.” And that’s what has been most important to us. Money is only a fleeting thought, but friends are a lifetime of memories.
If there has been a silver lining in the clouds that have plagued us over the last 12 months (Pete Sr.’s fight with cancer and the death of our grandfather), it’s the realization that business is just like life. The most important things can’t be bought. In the end, the only thing that’s still yours is the memories you made over a lifetime. From the beginning, it’s never been about the money. It’s always been about the memories. And because of that, our accountant may not agree, we wouldn’t sell this business for a million dollars. That’s never been as evident as recently.
Over the past few months, we’ve had several members go above and beyond. At times, we have even had to shake our head, and ask ourselves, “Is this how customers are supposed to act?”. Reggie and Mike Byots has been a tremendous asset to our family. Randi Anderson, Meredith Osborn, Genece Hamby, Pat Obertino, Katie Ronald, Tommy Bauer, Loni Manalia, Mike Bellovich, and a handful of other members have been instrumental in allowing us to offer more classes and services for our members. And it doesn’t end with just them. All of our members continue to support us, participate in our challenges, and try our new classes. We’re extremely thankful for that. It’s motivated us to continue to be creative, invest in new equipment/ideas, and enjoy all of the hours we spend working on/at the gym.
So even though we’ve “made” more smiles and laughter than money, we’d take that any day of the week and twice on Sundays. If this is how 2013 has started, we’re extremely excited to see how 2013 ends.
