Another challenge complete, another success in the books. We honestly didn’t think we could outdo the Mt. Everest Challenge, yet once again our members proved us wrong. Over the course of 6 weeks, 56 members on 14 different teams amassed a total of 7,222 points, which resulted in a $722 donation to the BenGil school district. The winning team, Thin It To Win It (Reggie Byots, Dionne Wyatt, Liz Thackery, and Angela Turcol) recorded a total of 1218 points. 3 other teams totaled over 700 points: Woofa Crew (who by the way is a high school team from Staunton), Prestige Worldwide, and Waist Management. That’s impressive to say the least.
We want to thank each and every member who participated in the challenge. You could have easily ignored the contest, and went about your normal exercise routine. However, you didn’t. And because of that, each and every one of you should be proud of “giving back” to the community. We’re continually reminded we have the best members (customers) in the state. You make us look forward to coming to the gym every day. How many people can say that about their jobs? You cannot fathom how much we appreciate that.
Once again, the level of determination, commitment, and effort was amazing; especially considering the prize was just a t-shirt. It once again speaks to the importance of process-based goals and the hidden motivator: mastery. When you focus on challenging yourself, accepting and learning from failures, and accruing small wins, you automatically become better every single day. At the end of the day, that’s all you can ask for. Are you better today than you were yesterday? If you can say yes, you’ve succeeded.
So again, thank you. We sincerely appreciate your participation in our challenges. Everyone who participated in the contest will receive a free limited edition t-shirt. They will be ready in 2 weeks. Thin It To Win It will also receive a gift certificate to CP’s Five and Dine. Waist Watchers was also randomly chosen to receive a gift certificate to CP’s.
