At Ageless, we don’t mess around. When we go big, we go BIG! So if we’re going to have a contest on the Jacob’s Ladder, why not climb Mt. Everest?
Mt. Everest is the world’s highest mountain, with its peak 29,029 feet above sea level. Only 3,142 people have ever reached its summit. Worse yet, 219 people have died trying. For mere mortals, some say it’s impossible. We say bulls_t!
- You have 60 days, starting January 1st, 2012, to reach 29,029 feet on the Jacob’s Ladder. Lucky for you, Gillespie is already 659 feet above sea level. You just have to climb 28,370 feet. That’s only ~500 feet per day.
- After each climb, snap a picture of the display on the Jacob’s Ladder and upload it to the Ageless facebook page. That’s how we’re keeping track of the totals, so you must snap a picture and upload it. It will prevent any disputes. We all know we’re not great at record keeping.
- Because we only have 1 Jacob’s Ladder, there will be a 20 minute time limit. You can train more than 20 minutes on it during a 24 hour time period; you just can’t be on it for more than 20 minutes without letting other members use it.
- If we do happen to have a dispute, we have 4 cameras that record the gym 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The video is kept for up to 4 weeks.
The Leader Board
We’ll have a 4’x8′ Mt. Everest Challenge leader board on display in the gym. It will be updated daily. We’ll also update our website and facebook page weekly.
Everyone who completes the challenge in 60 days will win an awesome, newly-designed Mt. Everest Challenge hooded sweatshirt. These won’t be sold to the general public.. You have to earn them.
The member who reaches the summit first will win a $100 gift certificate for North Face. We’ll also randomly draw a member’s name who has completed the challenge, and he/she will win a $75 gift certificate for North Face.
If you’re up for the challenge, sign up at our front desk. Let the trek begin!
